Nothing marries our love of food and visual arts better than commercial food photography. We recently had the opportunity to capture some menu highlights for the Watermill Kitchen + Bar. This was such a fun (and mouthwatering) shoot!The Watermill is the newly remodeled restaurant attached to the Hyatt Regency Hotel. They just opened this spring and their new menu sounds absolutely fabulous. Case in point, the Crumpet Benedict (top left in the above collage): poached egg, cracklins, cherry smoked pork belly, grain mustard hollandaise and skillet potatoes.The talented staff at the Watermill call themselves “a team of foodies with a deep-rooted love for our local community and the Iowa City area.”You can book commercial food and beverage photography as a standalone session or as part of a CTW Fusion package. We can even design and post the content!The Watermill has a great full-service bar with specialty cocktails. We had fun photographing some behind-the-scenes shots here. Their cocktail “Iowa Nice” includes a Flavor Blaster bubble on top, while the “Smoke Show” is made with applewood smoke. So cool!Lastly, we couldn’t leave without capturing dessert. We hear that the Barbara’s Orange Cake is fantastic. If you’re looking for a new restaurant to try in the Iowa City area, definitely give this one a try!
