The {T} Family | Extended Family | Burlington, IA

We had a great two-for-one session with the {T} family — half mini session and half extended family. Summer (an old friend and classmate) was spending time in Burlington, IA for the holidays. So, we couldn’t resist getting together for these photos of her sweet family. Most importantly, we had the opportunity to take some special generation portraits.

Sweet Miss Caroline is sitting on her great-great grandmother’s lap. In other words, you’re looking at five generations of women!

Thoughtful touches: the gorgeous rocking chair in these photos is a family heirloom. In addition, Caroline’s perfect white dress was worn by Summer when she was a baby.

After the extended family portraits, we took a few photos of Summer, Joss and Caroline. We had a chance to catch up with Summer in October while photographing Brooke and Chad’s wedding. We love that we’ve had these opportunities to document milestone moments of old friends.

Summer suggested singing the “Baby Shark” song to bring out Caroline’s sweet smile. That, plus a little bit of grandma being silly, worked like a charm!
