What a stunning family portrait session with the {G} family! We’ve been talking with this crew for a year about snowy portraits; this soft February snowfall delivered just what we were hoping for. Honestly, we couldn’t have dreamt up a prettier winter backdrop if we tried. The bridge near Iowa River Power Restaurant in Iowa City was a great starting place. Trekking our way across to the trail on the other side of the river, we stopped partway for a few portraits. Also, spotting ducks and geese in the water, of course. How cute are these two? Their brother-sister dynamic is so sweet. They were more than happy to snuggle up together, not to mention play a bit in the snow along the way.We made it to the other side! These troopers were just a little cold, but nevertheless happy to venture off trail for a lovely family portrait. What did we tell you? These two really were the cutest! The snow fell harder as the session went on. The flakes were perfectly formed and so soft; we love the way they filled up the sky.The matching red hats were such a special detail; what a pretty burst of color against the white background.Something we love about family portrait sessions are the in-between moments like these: taking a break to warm up, showing off a tiny icicle. Thanks for braving the cold with us, {G} family! We’re so happy we did.
