Leah & Ryon | Wedding | Iowa City, IASaturday, August 22, 2020Posted in CTW Weddings, Weddings We were overjoyed to finally get to celebrate with Leah and Ryon on their wedding day! The path to this day took some unexpected twists and turns; just weeks before their wedding, the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to change all the carefully crafted plans. It was such a difficult challenge to navigate, but these two handled it so well. An April wedding became an August wedding — one that was so beautiful and so full of love. We loved this shade of aqua blue for the bridesmaids dresses — fun and vibrant, just like these ladies! Sweet moments with family. Health and safety of their guests was important to Leah and Ryon; you’ll see lots of face masks throughout these highlights. The lace details on Leah’s gown were STUNNING. Leah and Ryon incorporated a special exchange of letters into their first look moment. We adored this sweet moment where they slowed down for a few minutes to focus in on their love for each other! We asked Ryon what he admires most about Leah. Here is just a little bit of what he had to say about his wife: “There is a lot to choose from in this question. Her appreciation for family is something that I have always admired. I have to always mention her work ethic and determination. She pushes herself to be better at whatever she is doing. I know that whatever she does, she’ll be awesome at it.” This was such a fun, close-knit group! Leah and Ryon are so loved. Leah and Ryon arranged to have their ceremony live streamed for Leah’s grandmother and other guests who were unable to be with them in person. A special sand pouring unity ceremony signified the joining of their lives. These two are MARRIED! Leah and Ryon had initially planned to stop at a favorite bar between the ceremony and reception…of course, the circumstances of a mid-pandemic wedding meant having to be adaptable. Instead, the group’s party bus brought them to Fossil Gorge for some extra portraits. We’re so happy we came to this gorgeous spot! When we asked Leah what she admires most about Ryon, this is what she said: “Ryon is undoubtedly the most selfless, hardworking, and caring person I have ever met. He is constantly putting other people’s needs before his own. He always gives 110% to whatever he is doing, and does it with the most positive attitude and a smile on his face.” This ladder photo display adorned with wedding portraits was a beautiful tribute to family. In keeping with the aqua and navy color scheme, Leah and Ryon had the perfect mini cake for themselves! Guests were treated to a delicious selection of cupcakes from Scratch Cupcakery. The way they look at each other has us melting. “One look at you, my whole life falls in line.” These dances with the father-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-groom were incredibly sweet. Check out Ryon’s garter-toss jump shot! Yes! Leah and Ryon, congratulations! It was such a pleasure to be a part of your long-awaited wedding day. The year 2020 has brought so many challenges and difficulties…finding a way to adapt and make it work is a beautiful testament to your determination and your love for each other.
