Kim & Josh | Wedding | Iowa City, IASaturday, June 22, 2019Posted in CTW Weddings, Weddings Kim and Josh’s Iowa City wedding was such a wonderful expression of their love for each other. From the meaningful Newman Center ceremony to portraits downtown to the gorgeous reception at Celebration Farm, the whole day was perfect. Some of our favorite things: the bride and groom singing together at their ceremony and touches of bunnies in the reception decor. Keep scrolling to see more beautiful details! We loved Kim’s jewelry and accessories, especially the stunning pearl engagement ring. A couple’s first look is one of our favorite things to capture; it’s such a special intimate moment before being swept up in the excitement of the day. Best of all, it usually yields some priceless expressions, like Josh’s grin of anticipation. The day started with some heavy rain showers. As we were thinking of possible alternatives to the outdoor pictures we had planned, the rain stopped! With a little puddle dodging, we were able to stroll through the Old Capitol area for these stunning portraits. This spot outside the Old Capitol building is Josh’s favorite view of the downtown; we captured it here and also during their engagement session. The colors in this wedding party were so striking, especially against the backdrop of gray buildings and bright spring grass. Forest green bridesmaid dresses and touches of peach in the bouquets. The ceremony took place at the Newman Catholic Student Center. This is where Kim and Josh met, sang together and fell in love. The Newman Singers choir was an important detail for Kim and Josh to include in their wedding. It was especially moving for them to sing together at the end of the mass. The reception at Celebration Farm’s timber frame barn was so lovely. We absolutely adored the bunny cake topper, made by the bride herself! Kim and Josh have two pet rabbits at home, so of course they included this nod to them in their wedding decor. There was an abundance of laughter, tears and joy as words of love and support were shared. The bride and groom softly sang to each other as they danced. “Lucky I’m in love with my best friend.” This group filled the dance floor! Kim and Josh, congratulations! We were delighted to capture every thoughtful detail of your wedding.
