Erin & Sage | Wedding | Swisher, IATuesday, November 23, 2021Posted in CTW Weddings, Weddings Erin and Sage’s wedding day was such a beautiful celebration of love! There was so much warmth and laughter between them and their loved ones that we *almost* didn’t notice the chill in the air. Some of our favorite things: the meaningful handfasting unity ceremony, portraits at Cedar Ridge Winery, and lots of amazing moves on the dance floor. Keep scrolling to see all the highlights! Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Erin’s heirloom penny in her shoe was a symbol of a life of good fortune and sugar cubes symbolized a sweet marriage! We love these matching pajamas and bridesmaid scrunchies. Erin’s matron of honor was unable to attend the wedding in person but made sure to send a picture showing that she was also rocking the cozy silk pajamas. Erin and Sage opted to not see each other before the ceremony. Instead, they each had a sweet first look moment with the other’s wedding party attendants. The wedding ceremony took place at the lovely Red Cedar Lodge in Marion. The flower guys did an exceptional job of scattering the aisle with flower petals. Sage seeing his bride walk towards him — this moment is everything. This handfasting ceremony was so special. Some of their loved ones brought cords to tie over Erin and Sage’s hands a symbol of their unity (very literally tying the knot!). Erin and Sage snuck away for a little celebratory drink because THEY’RE MARRIED! After the ceremony, we all headed to Cedar Ridge Winery in Swisher. This was an absolutely perfect spot for their reception. While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, we took a few portraits around the vineyard. Ooh, that veil…Erin, you are absolutely gorgeous! We love the sneakers!! Cheers! The Cedar Ridge Winery barrel room gave us a nice break from the cold. The reception space was decorated in blush and burgundy with touches of green and gold. So lovely! Time to get the party started! To get the toasts started off, a prerecorded speech from the matron of honor was projected for the bride and groom and their guests. Next the best woman, father of the bride and father of the groom all toasted the couple. Many, many laughs were had and everyone learned the answer to the question “is this a kissing book?” (If you don’t get this reference, we highly recommend you go watch “The Princess Bride”!) “Since the invention of the kiss there have been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind.” Before getting the dance party started, the bride and groom cut into their beautiful cake. So much love. Why, yes, that is the groom trying not to spill his drink as he does the Macarena. LOVE. Such a fun group on the dance floor! Erin and Sage, congratulations! We had an amazing time capturing all these special moments from your wedding day.
