This engagement session with Cassie and Kellen in Downtown Iowa City was gorgeous; these two were so happy to snuggle up together, and not just because it was a very cold November morning.  Seriously, their interactions were adorable and made this session so much fun.

Iowa City received an early taste of winter — we had quite a bit of snow on the ground that week.  While the sun melted some of it away, there were still patches here and there.  The crust of snow on this walkway, along with Cassie’s lovely shawl and sweater dress, made these pictures look so cozy.

We really love taking couples downtown for their engagement sessions.  There are so many pathways and buildings that we love.  These delicate hanging lanterns next to the worn brick wall add such a unique, whimsical touch.

Cassie and Kellen were so excited when we found this thick carpet of golden yellow leaves!  So many of the trees had lost their leaves by then.  This was a great way to incorporate some of those last colors of fall.  And what a fun contrast to the snowy walkway pictures!

We thought that Cassie’s gold cardigan next to Kellen’s black sweater was a cute, subtle nod to the Iowa Hawkeyes’ well-loved black and gold colors.  So appropriate for this stroll through the Pentacrest.
