Annie & Jonathan | Wedding | Iowa City, IATuesday, July 13, 2021Posted in CTW Weddings, Weddings What a gorgeous summer wedding with this incredibly sweet couple! We had such a wonderful time celebrating love with Annie and Jonathan. From beginning to end, this day was so full of genuine warmth, joy and happiness. Some of our favorite things: the bride’s cap-sleeve lace gown (stunning!), portraits at the groom’s childhood home, and this group lighting up the dance floor at the reception. Keep scrolling to see the highlights! Love these special getting ready moments! Annie and Jonathan chose not to see each other before their wedding. Instead, they wrote and exchanged love letters and read them just before the ceremony. The wedding ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. So beautiful. This moment right here! The expression on Jonathan’s face as he watches his bride walk towards him is so moving. The Catholic Mass ceremony was so heartfelt and full of love. It was especially meaningful to have the bride’s brother playing the organ for the service. MARRIED! After the ceremony, we headed to Jonathan’s parents’ home for a few portraits. Happily, there were some very sweet doggies there to greet us! This was such a fun group. Also, a moment of appreciation for the way those chianti dresses and tan suits pop against the green trees. So pretty! The swing set, complete with clubhouse, from Jonathan’s childhood still stands in his parents’ backyard. Not gonna lie, we were pretty impressed that all the guys fit into that child-sized clubhouse! Next, we moved on to the Marriott for their lovely wedding reception. One of our favorite details was the signature drinks named after their dogs, Joanie and Wagz! Instead of a traditional guestbook, the couple invited their guests to lend their thumbprints to create this fireworks art piece. We love that idea! Next, toasts from family members were full of words of love and encouragement and laughter. The way these two look at each other completely melts our hearts. So, so sweet. After cake cutting, toasts and some special dances, Annie and Jonathan played the Shoe Game, aka Newlywed Game. The the bride and groom lifted a shoe answer questions about each other like “who spoils the dogs more?” and “who is the better kisser?” Finally, we capped off the evening with some amaaazing time on the dance floor. Annie and Jonathan, congratulations! We were so delighted to be part of your wedding day and we hope you enjoy these highlights!Vendors:Photographer: CTW PhotographyCaterer: Marriott HotelBaker: Classic Cakes by DesignDress: David’s BridalDJ: A Special Event DJSalon: Essence SalonFlorist: Every Bloomin’ Thing
