The {R} Family | True Lifestyle | Solon, IA

Looking back on some happy summer memories: these highlights from the {R} family’s True Lifestyle session make us smile so much!

We photographed the {R] family a couple years ago when Declan was a baby. It was so good to see them again and meet the newest member of the family, sweet Emmery!

LOVE!

True lifestyle sessions are pretty amazing for moments like these — playtime, cuddles, real family moments. Especially with young kids, our aim is to let them be little. We’ll still get the “look here and smile” family portraits, but for the most part, we want everybody to just be themselves.

For the second half of this session, we took a quick trip to Josie’s family’s country home. Only days later, the Midwest suffered a severe hit from the 2020 August derecho. The windstorm was devastating to property and crops all over the state of Iowa. We’re so grateful that we were able to capture all these happy, beautiful moments before the storm.

Such a sweet family!

We adored this willow tree. So did Declan! We can’t blame him one bit for wanting to swing on the vines.

Everyone took a rest in the shade for some rock-skipping fun near the family pond. Another great true lifestyle moment.

Hi, Emmery!

We learned that Grandma and Grandpa’s house is quite the wonderland of toys and cool things (like lawnmowers!) for Declan.

Just some fun in the hay bales. We love how adventurous this little guy (and his dad!) are.

Tuckered out from all the playtime, Emmery fell asleep on Josie’s shoulder while they were looking at the flowers. A pretty perfect ending to this true lifestyle session.
