It was such a pleasure to capture all the details and meaningful moments of Ashley and Joshua’s wedding! From the bride’s stunning lace gown to the rustic decor to the unbelievably sweet smiles these two were giving each other all day, there was so much to love. The April showers we experienced didn’t dampen their moods one bit — in spite of the chill, they were just so happy to be together celebrating with their friends and family.

Special details…we adored Ashley’s delicate lace gown and dazzling jewelry.

“I tried to be as sneaky as possible in planning the proposal and buying the ring but was not as sneaky as I thought. Ashley was too smart and caught on to many of my plans even though she didn’t act like she knew something was coming. My plan was that if I proposed on my birthday she wouldn’t expect it, and sometimes I wonder if she actually did know as much as she said she knew of the plans. I was a little nervous on the bridge where I proposed since I was waiting for the right time when there were no other people around so we could have our moment. I finally had my chance as she paused while walking, so I got down on my knee to ask her.”

“When Josh knew what he wanted to do for his birthday two whole days before his actual birthday, I was 99% sure he was going to propose. On his birthday, we drove out to Sutliff and walked around to look at the changing autumn leaves. I could tell he was walking slower than usual and I wanted to stop walking and tell him to just ask me already,
but I didn’t want to ruin his attempt to surprise me. I eventually stopped as we were coming into the view of other people on the bridge and he finally asked me to marry him. I, of course, said yes!”

Getting ready to see each other for the first time on their wedding day! A couple’s first look is such a significant and special moment…we really love having the opportunity to capture it.

We were lucky enough to have a little break in the weather for the wedding party to step outside! It started to sleet right after we took this photo.

The groom’s face as he watches his bride walk down the aisle toward him is one of our favorite things about weddings.

We loved the rope braiding ceremony that Ashley and Joshua did to symbolize their unity as a couple.

The rain stopped! In spite of very cold temperatures (it may have felt more like February than April), Ashley and Joshua were willing and eager to head outside for these portraits. We’re so happy that we did!

This cake and cupcake display were stunning. The tree trunk cake stand, the roses, the touch of gold, that perfectly fluffy frosting — everything was so lovely. Almost too pretty to eat…almost.

Underneath the delicate drapery and that breathtaking chandelier, Ashley and Joshua’s first dance was truly magical. We love that you can see their unity braid cross displayed in the background.

The father-daughter and mother-son dances were full of very special moments.

Party time! This group was not shy at all about getting out on the dance floor!
